Prior to joining the faculty at UNC Asheville I worked as the elementary education program coordinator and first director of Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Teaching Fellows Program. I taught in Chapel Hill-Carrboro and Rowan-Salisbury public school system for more than 20 years (grades K-5).
