Brook Thompson

Teacher Recruitment and Retention Liaison
121 Zageir Hall, CPO 1950

Brook first became interested in education when as an intern at Amnesty International she was assigned the Human Rights Education Service Corps program.  Recognizing the important role education plays in bringing about social change, she switched career paths.  Since then she has worked for a civic education program in Washington, DC, a farm to school program in Western North Carolina, and the McDowell County Schools system.  In her position as the Teacher Recruitment and Retention Liaison, Brook enjoys promoting the teacher licensure program at UNC Asheville and helping students, current and future, achieve their goals.

In her free time Brook enjoys traveling and working in her yard.
